Built for digging, not scrolling

Search everything at once

All library searches your likes and every crate in one go, and each hit shows which crate it's in.

  • Sort by Added, Plays, BPM, Key or Length
  • Type artist:name, or click an artist, to filter
  • Everywhere jumps from a crate's search to the whole library

Key and BPM filters

Pick a Camelot key from a colour-coded grid and set a BPM range. The not-in-a-crate filter turns your likes into a triage list.

Dig for more

Dig learns what a crate sounds like from its genres, tags, tempos and artists, then brings back tracks that fit. Find similar does the same for a single track.

Crates your way

Your SoundCloud playlists are your crates. Make them, rename them, file them into groups and switch them between private and public.

  • New crate with ⌘N, rename with F2
  • Groups are folders that live in the app
  • Add to crate from any row, with the + or A
  • Track counts update the moment you add

A queue that follows the list

Play a track and the rest of that list plays after it, in the order you see it, wherever you browse.

  • Shuffle and repeat, remembered between launches
  • ⌘L jumps back to the playing track
  • Play next or add to queue from the right-click menu
  • Locked tracks are skipped

Privacy

How it works

Soundarr talks to SoundCloud through its official API and keeps your library on your computer.

Audio never touches disk

Tracks stream and play from memory. Soundarr never saves audio files.

Your library stays local

Track details, artwork links and waveforms are cached in a local database, so your library opens fast.

The official SoundCloud API

Everything goes through SoundCloud's official API: no scraping, and nothing SoundCloud doesn't offer to apps.

Sign in with your browser

You sign in on SoundCloud's own page in your browser, so Soundarr never sees your password. The login is kept in the Keychain on macOS and in the app's data folder on Windows.

Questions

Yes. There's no account, trial or payment beyond your own SoundCloud login.

No. Tracks play from memory while you listen and are never saved to your computer.

SoundCloud doesn't stream Go+ and label-restricted tracks to other apps. Soundarr marks them as locked, and clicking one opens it on SoundCloud.

In the app's data folder: %APPDATA%\cratedig\cratedig\data on Windows and ~/Library/Application Support/com.cratedig.cratedig on macOS. Your likes and playlists stay on SoundCloud as they are.

On Windows, use Settings → Apps; your library cache and sign-in are kept unless you tick the box to remove them. On macOS, drag Soundarr from Applications to the Trash, and delete its data folder too if you want a clean slate.

No. Soundarr is an independent app that uses SoundCloud's official API.
